She looks at me with love:
Sadly she’s the first to do so;
In her mind I can do no wrong;
Even though I constantly fail her;
In her eyes I’m a champion;
Even if I always lose;
Her heart is full of hope and dreams;
Mine have all but died;
In her I see a world of promise;
But she can’t see her world beyond me;
My greatest fear in the world is that she’ll become what she sees;
That she’ll find herself trapped in a world of fear, loss and sadness;
That she’ll choose obligation over joy;
Or that she’ll lose herself pursuing some loser boy;
I pray that she’s stronger than I am;
That her faith sees her through;
I pray that every dream she has she has the courage to hold on to;
I pray at the end of my life in her eyes;
I became someone she could look up to.
