A Chapter by Mia Nair

PROLOGUE
"Hurry, your mama will be hungry. He's alone at home after such a long time and we are a bit late than I would have liked." I nodded and paced up my steps to match amumma's. We were returning from some kind of dinner hosted at my mum's. Two minutes later we were at our doorstep. Knock.. Knock...Knock...Knock.. Knock. But to no avail. "Might have fallen asleep, let me get the spare key from our neighbours." I could see she was a bit tense as she borrowed the key from Aunty. She went ahead to open the door while a stood near our neighbour's door with Aunty.
"Noooooooooooo..." An unearthly, high pitched scream escaped from amumma as she collapsed onto the stone tiles. From where I was standing, the visibilty was poor. I just remember seeing dangling legs and an upturned stool.
And like that, I turned witness to my first trauma at three years of age.
And this is the earliest memory I have of my childhood.

A good start. Now give us more. I liked the use of the first memory. I hope you can write more dear Mia. Thank you for sharing the opening chapter.
