The Secret Dream

this is just me trying to describe how I think a lot of people are when they have a secret dream that they don't want anyone to know about- I apologize if anyone finds it a little depressing

I have a secret dream,

It is buried way down in a thick box,

Deep within my soul,

Where no body may prize it open but me,

And then it is locked and bolted,

So carefully,

That even I have difficulty in getting it out at times

It is such a complex dream

That the only people I could show it to would be my best friends,

And even they would only be allowed the briefest glimmer,

For it is far too abstract, bizarre and strange for them to fully comprehend;

Even I don't completely understand it sometimes

It is better this way,

For it means that no one will ever know

The full weight of this deepest and darkest desire,

And what it really means...

Except for me.

That way, if my dream falls through,

As it is no longer a reality,

It is only I that would feel the heavy weights,

Of the bolts finally slipping through,

And hitting home,

Right at the heart of my soul.

I don't see sad, I see it the speaks the truth and it's good sometime not to tell you dreams at your friends because, What happens if you fail? and you let everyone you knew about your dream?
The'll probably mock or you something.
Sometimes it's better to have some dreams for our selfs, that we only us can understand the real weithg of it like you said in your poem.
This is an amazing poem that gave a lot to think about, Good work!
