she didnt ask to be judged

she didnt ask to be judged

A Poem by mia

she never asked to be judged it kinda just happened
her hair wasn't the straight
her eyes weren't the right color
her body was to curvy
her social skills never developed fast enough
she never asked to be judged it kinda just happened
she had no friends to turn to when life had seemed to push her further to the floor
people would laugh at her when she came out of the bathroom after she was dong crying over the names she was called every day
stupid
s**t
w***e
always told she was nothing
after a while she started believing in everything they said about her
abused by the words that no one wanted to save her from
laughed at because her birthmark covered half her face
her wrists where tainted by the knife that gave her ease at night
she never asked to be judged it kinda just happened
adults say that kids can be cruel
others say its just apart of her imagination
her father only speaks the words of alcoholism
she never asked to be born it kinda just happened

It is said that the derogatory remarks of a person against another speaks more of who the speaker not the other way around. While this may be true, the sad reality is, painful, demeaning words create invisible scar to the recipient. No to bullying!

I really like the idea of this poem. I feel like this type of issue arises so frequently in today's society.
