Silence

He is at peace
His mind doesn't wonder
His back doesn't twitch
His lungs out of breath
Lifeless he lays on the Pavement
She sits by his side silent
He knew
Now the pain of everything doesn't haunt his face
She holds his cold hands
How could we have stopped it
He knew but couldn't say
Fate brought them together and just as quickly pulled them apart
It hurts
It burns
She lays next to him
Lost
Alone
Forgotten
