Find the Darkness

Find the Darkness

A Poem by mhylands

There once was a time when I thought I could change the outcome
Manipulation and obscure pretentions, the only things I have done
Yet, another tragedy where I am left with just one

Chance to find salvation
Believing in what is left to come

I yearn
To find the dark within you
Tear it from your own
Flesh and blood
Blackened sun chaotically ensues

It was never up to me to decide these possibilities
With each try, I still don't know what this all means
Yet, another tragedy where it's all just a tease

It's tearing me apart
The demons laugh in spite of me
Always haunting
The soul inside I keep

It's breaking me, my heart
Trying to get back at me
Fingers pointing
The blame, I cannot sleep
