In Memorium

In Memorium

A Poem by mhylands

I have wasted into shadow
A silhouette unable to manifest
Hiding from every window
Still unresolved as to confess
I know this has come to an end
There never was a chance to mend
The faults continuing to fracture
As my heart starts to splinter
Attached to the dream so surreal
I awake in a bitter sweat
The cold I can no longer feel
Blinded by the veil of intent
With the dawn approaching on the horizon
I am left to contemplate what has been done
While retreating away from the rising sun
No longer able to see what will come
I was stripped of that future
My chance moment to nurture
Those bonds unfit to mature
In the dark recesses of nature
The casket now abandoned in the ground
In a cemetery devoid of sound
Lilies adorn the subtle mound
The final rest, forever bound
