Atoned

Atoned

A Poem by mhylands

Arise from the ashes of a fallen kingdom
The sacrificial blood paid for this resurrection
Awaken, free of the immense burden
Atoned for this deadly insurrection

Cut ties with the life formally had
Reborn in a world undone
Sever the dream to save this land
A wasteland devoured in the light of the sun

The atrocities of mankind
Left nothing behind
Those scars that bind
Now lost in time

As the final wall crumbles
The earth starts to tremble
An infernal mist
Spews from the abyss

Stigmata, plague without a face
Reigned over the last civilization
Infection, has left no trace
Cleansed by their mass incineration
