The Scorn, pt.XA Poem by mhylandsPatience, ever so difficult to maintain in troubled times Proves to retain a fickle and unpredictable consequence Persistence on scaling the cliffs peering over canyons Pacifying the anxiety with each foothold secured Despite the possibility of losing my grasp on life I am driven to continue this ascension of lunacy I will succeed in this, I cannot be deterred from my conquest Piecing together providence of my own design I persist in spite of the pain and agony What lies at the top has enraptured my senses I must know the secrets I feared for so long Abandoning the despair, renouncing that despot throne Leaving behind sorrow and forsaken affliction I place my life on the line just for this one discovery Determined and unwavering, risking everything This is my resolve, a perilous crusade Any mistake will cast me into the valley of death Stern, the ascent my fixated goal A journey with no promise of reward Still, a journey that must be endured The choice made to take the difficult route A venture I decided to take the chance Hungering for the revelation I cannot ignore Believing this to ultimately be the right path I have tired of this vacant cold To return color to these dying lands Banishing the scorn infesting this world Purifying the silent scourge Tearing down these walls I constructed Rebuilding an everlasting kingdom My grand adventure To hear the calling of birds...
