Deception

Deception

A Poem by mhylands

Under what pretense was this acceptable?
Tell me the rationality that brought you here
I cannot fathom how you were able
To muddy these waters once so clear

Now I am expected to share the blame
Begging again for me to question
Do you have no shame?
Do you revel in the deception?

F**k your twisted way of thinking
Leaving me to save this ship from sinking

I cannot seem to grasp the concept
Of this senseless attempt
Who will become the next subject
Of your undying contempt?

Rather than step out into the light
You continue to dance in shadows
With no sense of what is right
You've planted the endless blackened meadows

I despise that we are forever bound
In this kingdom that I had found

I conspire to end your life
Even at the expense of mine
As you add to the strife
Always quick to cross the line

There will be no mercy
No forgiveness to stay my hand
The judgement for your heresy
The damnation that I will brand

I have grown tired of this game
These false promises that you claim

Cry out in vain
From unrelenting pain

I really like this poem. It speaks to me in a way. It is very edgy and aggressive. Good job! I look forward to reading more of your work.
