Monuments

Monuments

A Poem by mhylands

Defining an abstract entity
Words can only envision the construct
Establish the foundation of conception
For the rise of a monument
In accordance with the prophecy
I carve stone to fashion the pillars
Imbued with my will and soul
An eternal legacy devised to endure the ages
Forged by these hands, this ladder to the heavens
The link by which I gain the command
To cast out the gods and pierce through the shroud
For the rise of a monument
An immortal empire
All within reach
A black spire
Absolute requiem
I am the creator, constructing my own fate
I am the maker, erecting the colossus
Architect of an abstract destiny
Absolving the institute that binds
I no longer fear to cross the lines
