The Truth Eluded

The Truth Eluded

A Poem by mhylands

We have lost our voice of reason
Sacrificed to make a cohesion
Is there nothing left that is sacred?
We have lost our voice of reason

You insist that we have come so far
Evading evidence that could leave another scar
It's complicated and you want the simple truth
Ends don't justify means, yet this is what you elude

This is not how it's supposed to be
The imaginary consumed by you and me
Alluded as retaining our individuality
We have become the fault of humanity

We are (we are) in a cycle
Falling (falling) in a spiral

We have lost our voice of reason

Awaken, use your eyes, and see the consequential
Forsaken realm programmed to be sequential

Indoctrinated
Intoxicated
Fabricated
We are degraded
