Take Me Away

Take Me Away

A Poem by mhylands

I feel lost [in an empty hole]

Dust turns to dust [until nothing remains]

Why am I here? [can no one hear me]

Take me away...

I know I made so many mistakes

But, I stood back up and tried to make

Amends, for the faults I couldn't fake

Unaware of what was really at stake

I know, I know

I can't go back now, to that place

But where do I go from here

I feel forsaken

I am crying out for someone

To take me away...

I run far, in search of what is missing

Am I to blame, and what does that make me

Another scar, I am stuck reminiscing

I feel so cold, this air is killing me
