Between Lines

Between Lines

A Poem by mhylands

Divided, my soul aches

Cage rattled, involuntary shakes

I’ve been devoured whole

But still I’ve broken to pieces

Nothing helps this tragic suicide

Just another statistic for them to hide

Behind the vanity affair

Despised and attenuated

In between the lines

The abstract is defined

These lines are the only truth

Concrete, solid and unwavering

Boundaries to keep me on track

When ink stains and bleeds

A lie to hide

The scars inside

Irate and comatose

Filled to bare this encumbrance

Of conflicting emotions

A vengeful ocean

To drown the lies

That I try to hide
