Drinks A'plenty

Drinks A'plenty

Attempt at folk lyrics. Positive writing is definitely not my strong point, but I remember I had fun back when I wrote it.

On the full moon’s eve, we gather here tonight

To drink ourselves under, and sing to our delight

Cheers for this great feast, it’s such a wondrous sight

‘til dawn we’ll keep on laughing, and drink away the night

Hey-ah-yay, beers for every table

Yo-ho-ho, a drink for the horses in the stable

Festive here on every night, we shout so loud “who gives a shite?!”

A lass for every lad, so no one starts a fight

The night will carry on, until the dawn’s early light

Drinks aplenty and tales unending, I’ll be here all the night

Hey-ah-yay, a beer for every fable

Yo-ho-ho, a drink for the lad in the stable

Now listen close, I really must tell

The most delightful of stories, a grand tale

Of an old man from the eastern trail

Who stumbled in when a storm did swell

He bought a drink and hobbled up to this dame

He tried to entice her, but she was hard to tame

Nonetheless, he did put us all to shame

And had a merry old time, and oh did he get laid

Hey-ah-yay, beers for every table

Yo-ho-ho, a drink for the horses in the stables
