A Poem by mhylands
"

A bunch of shorter bits.

"

A glimmer caught my eye

And I was entranced

It was only for a moment

But I was captured by its beauty for an eternity

∴              ∥              ∴              ∥              ∴

Your touch sends shivers down my spine

So gentle, warm, and delicately refined

It’s a fresh breath of air when I see your face

Your smile incites a flame inside

Rekindles the passion every time

I can’t resist the excitement

I break down

I cry, when I make you ache, and

I want to always be by your side

∴              ∥              ∴              ∥              ∴

Cry out to the ones that blame you

Reach out to the ones that scar you

Give in to the one-sided version of a
Predestined life story authored by psychotic minds

∴              ∥              ∴              ∥              ∴

Tied to a secret with no desire to keep it

In open light, we commune the lives we lead

No chains nor whips, no venomous words taint our flesh and bone

∴              ∥              ∴              ∥              ∴

It’s just another holocaust, driving out the truth

Controlled by a small few

They give us a false idea of the s**t going on today

Tales of heroics, of fallen heroes

∴              ∥              ∴              ∥              ∴
