Winter VeilA Poem by mhylandsFor a girl of Winter 2012. My obsession with examining our dualistic and veiled mannerisms was a direct inspiration for this one.In the winter snow Accompanied by the night Transcending the terms, conjuring
a fantasy Alone and unaware Unable to breathe in Lost to silence, contemplating
the illusion Release me from the façade Of the dual-edged blade Directing the tragedy unfolding Before my eyes, staining these
tears Piercing a broken heart Crying out for solace Bleeding through the dreams,
augmenting the pain Forced to consume Infernal ambrosia Entreating shadows, oppressing
memories Liberate me from this disguise Marring the light inside Distilling every last remnant Poisoning my purity,
anaesthetizing the relief Gone, I am Lost, a dream Forgot, my sight Veiled, until my time has come… © 2014 mhylands |
