SMXII - VIII

SMXII - VIII

A Poem by mhylands
"

SMXII covers a series of writings I did during my drunken summer of 2012. Often, they were related to love, which is a difficult subject for me. When drunk, I wrote in my little black journal.

"

In sinful ecstasy, you leave your mark

As do I, without any hesitation

Softly spoken words caress our lips

Seemingly sincere, devoid of expectation

Days pass by and hopes dwindle

Were these only said in intoxication

Time unyielding to a smoldering love

Cannot these lies become a realization

Send me to the depths

So that I can show you

The strength of my vows

To remain by your side

I won’t ever let you down

Even when silence surrounds us now

I hope that you have found

Your true nature to lead you out
