SMXII - V

SMXII - V

A Poem by mhylands
"

SMXII covers a series of writings I did during my drunken summer of 2012. Often, they were related to love, which is a difficult subject for me. When drunk, I wrote in my little black journal.

"

Nothing will ever come between us

Even as I lie wasted on the pavement

We can hold hands without any trust

Just as god will have intended

Sing the song of apathy

Cry out forever in empathy

Because we all have accustomed to lethargy

An emotion without sympathy

Sleeping away the longing

For something more than belonging

What truths will tomorrow bring about

For someone more than devout
