Empty Wishes

I wish I could have found the words to make you happy,

Been the girl that made you smile,

Made your life worthwhile.

 

I wish you could have seen how much I loved you,

How without you my life was incomplete,

Even though loving you was bittersweet.

 

I wish I could go back in time,

Make you understand how I felt,

Make you pay for every welt.

 

I wish you would have just left me alone,

Let me go on my way,

Instead you begged me to stay.  

 

I wish I would have listened,

Listened to my mother who saw every bruise,

Instead I lied for you and blamed it on the booze.

 

Oh, how I wish you would have learned not to hit a girl,

But that is asking for too much,

And wishes are for chumps.

Abusers are poison. No matter how cocky they dont like themselves. They dont want the people most important to them to like themselves either because then they will be lonely b******s.

Well this is a good write, but now way is leaving welts love at all, you are better off without the abuse, I am witnessing the same thing within my family and though the person who is the victim is not blood related and the abuser is blood related I am telling her the same thing, get away from him, and do what is best for you.
