Take a look in the mirror

I know you don't like what you see

But can't you see your beauty deep within

That shines above it all

Never let your spirit wither

Though they may laugh at you and me

But I swear I'll wipe away all the tears you cried

And I'll catch you every time you fall

And I know how you feel, like you won't be the one

The special someone we're all looking for

I know you feel so alone, like there's nowhere to run

And like you'll stay this way forevermore

But don't you know how special you are to me

So just ignore everything they say

Stay here with me now, can't you see what I see?

Take my hand, together we'll find our way

Deep within your heart you shine

Brighter than the moon or the sun

This is beauty redefined

Don't you know you're the one

And don't you know you're better than all of them

Like the stars shining over the distant lands

And I just know how this will end

So I'm proud to call you my friend

Take a look all around you

I know you don't like what they do

But can't you feel that I'm always there

No matter what will come

What if I'd never found you?

Will you still be the same one I always knew?

And I know you're searching for acceptance somewhere

As we watch the rising sun

And don't you know that I'm real, and all this is true

It doesn't matter what they say

I caught a programme last night, this poem reminded me of it. It was about a guy who was born with a genitic disorder causing facial deformities, born without ears and a deformed facial features, he over came all obsticles to be accepted in his community, holds down a teaching job etc etc, a young girl fee in love with him, she loves him for the person he is, a beautiful, kind and generous soul, they are to be married soon, she calla him her handsome knight, she see's no deformity. and that my friend is your poem.

i dont categorize men all as shallow. You can usually tell the shallow ones within minutes of meeting them. there are good guys out there, and if i meet one, im deffinitely holding on to him! they are few and far between! i really liked this and i, just waiting for someone to feel this way about me. i can almost see this as a song!

Good one..!! But it is not always easy to accept the fact that one is not good-looking or in your terminology..'Shallow'..!! It calls for courage to take this and live with it..!!!!
