So Alive

So Alive

A Poem by Undying Glory

My song/poem inspired by James Cameron's epic movie, "Avatar". Hope you like it!

So Alive (Inspired by the movie "Avatar")
Life
Is what I see deep in your eyes
Like the sparkle in the distance
And all around me it resides
And what I

Feel
Feel the sadness in the rain
Feel the ground beneath my feet
I am free now once again
And take me

In
I see you so clearly now
And when the world's consumed in flames
We'll make it out somehow
Into the

Sun
As we soar into the sky
See the world in all its grace
But still I wonder why

I'm not who you are
But I know for sure
What I'm fighting for
I'm falling apart
But I know I've found
What I'm searching for
And I'm seeing the light
Now you've opened my eyes
The world is so alive

Time
Seems to stop as I look at you
At the glimmer in the trees
As it shines off the morning dew
Into the

Night
Hear the whispers of the past
And now you're by my side
I just want this to last
I'm not who you are
But I know for sure
What I'm fighting for
I'm falling apart
But I know I've found
What I'm searching for
And I'm seeing the light
Now you've opened my eyes
The world is so alive

I can't be who you are now
I'm not who I pretend to be
But does it matter at all now
Now you're here with me
Fight by my side now
Now that our time has arrived
And I'll come back to you
The world is so alive

In response to some readers, I'm explaining each and every reference to the movie. If you already know, or have a good idea, please ignore this.
The song is written from Jake Sully's perspective.
1) "Sparkle in the distance"/"Glimmer in the trees" - Anyone who ever watched the movie knows how freaking beautiful the set of Pandora is
2) "Feel the ground beneath my feet/I am free now once again" - Jake Sully is wheelchair-bound. While controlling his Avatar for the first time, he was so happy he could walk again...
3) "World's consumed in flames" - First battle against the humans
4) "Whispers of the past" - The Na'vi have a tree called the Tree of Souls, where a Na'vi can listen to the voices of his or her ancestors
5) "Fight by my side now/ Now that out time has arrived" - Final battle against the humans
6) "And I'll come back to you" - Neytiri has told Jake Sully earlier in the movie that the Na'vi believe those who die return as new Na'vi. This is what happens after Jake Sully suffocates in Pandora's atmosphere at the end of the movie and dies...
Hope that helped...

I really really really loved this poem. I loved the movie too but this was so beautiful. I think it's really cool how you write a lot of poems and songs based on other songs or movies and shows. And you make your own so much that you can't even tell you where you got your inspiration from. Truly amazing and you're truly talented.

I have never seen avatar before but I have heard it is amazing. I like your comment as it explains the bits what I didn't understand. I find it helpful and explainable. From reading this poem it makes me want to go and see avavtar more then ever before. I could buy it on DVD and watch it with some friends and eat popcorn. I think the poem is written from the heart and is very deep in some way.

Excellent work. You're really going to have to stop this. I can't put EVERY one of your pieces in my favorites :) But they are very worthy of it. Your words always manage to touch my heart in some way. Great work.
