Hands Held High (High School Version) Part 2A Poem by Undying GloryThe rest of my adaptation of Linkin Park's epic Hands Held High. Hope you like it!Hands Held High (High School Version) Part 2
In the lunch room watching but I am not laughing 'Cos I know too well what is gonna happen The bullies are cold, the brave kids take action Standing up only to get pounded into fractions Since 10 years old, but I've seen what I have to see Another kid my age, after being stung by a bee Taken and found beaten up under a tree I wonder if he had thought, "The next one could be me" Do you see the bullies that are out today That throw what they took from others away? It's ironic, at times like this they say, "Don't take it too hard, it's all just for play!" They're there on the buses, bikes and roads, Bigger than the rest and wearing the best clothes, My friend, he's got a lot of fear, I know But enough pride inside not to let that show My brother had a toy he would hold with pride But in the garbage can the bullies threw it inside And they all laughed at he sat down and cried But I told him, "I'll get you another. It'll be alright" Meanwhile the bullies still take us for fools Stuttering and mumbling in front of the teachers in school And the rest of us watching at the end of the day Glaring at them angrily, "What the hell did he say?!"
With hands held high into the sky so blue, As the ocean opens up to swallow you, With hands held high into the sky so blue, Now they'll never ever want to bother you. © 2009 Undying GloryAuthor's Note
