If Only You Knew

If Only You Knew

A Poem by Undying Glory
"

Another song/poem. About when you like someone but just can't find the words...

"

If Only You Knew

I’m watching you talk
I’m watching you laugh
And your smile’s so sweet
Walking down my empty path

As I look from my window
I’m watching you with him
Do you know how much
It tears me up from within?

And as you smile back at me
I see the sorrow in your eyes
And I don’t know
How to make you come around

If only you knew
How I feel about you
All the songs that I wrote
All dedicated to you
Your smile and your eyes
They’re haunting my dreams
But you’re so far away
Or so it seems
And I wonder
What would you do?
If only you knew

You know you’re so hot
You know you’re so smart
But do you know you’ll be
Forever in my heart

Your voice whispers in the wind
As you stare far out to sea
Wonder if you’d ever
Come and set me free

But as you smile back at me
I see the sadness in your eyes
And I don’t know
How to make you come around

If only you knew
How I feel about you
All the songs that I wrote
All dedicated to you
Your smile and your eyes
They’re haunting my dreams
But you’re so far away
Or so it seems
And I wonder
What would you do?
If only you knew

I watch the candle flicker out
And I just don’t know what to do
And I just want to know
How to make you come around

If only you knew
How I feel about you
All the songs that I wrote
All dedicated to you
Your smile and your eyes
They’re haunting my dreams
But you’re so far away
Or so it seems
And I wonder
What would you do?
If only you knew

these are great - i generally imagine your stuff as lyrics to a song - they'd fit really well! only lines i don't like "You know you're so hot, You know you're so smart" - not quite as flowing as the rest of the poem.
keep up the great work! :-)

I know this feeling and this was a very good description of that feeling. Thank you for sharing this with me.

This is adorably amazing (: the flow, the words, all fall in line together. I must agree a lot of at a point in life will feel like this, it's hard admiring from a distance, wanting them to know, yet scared of the outcome, scared of the unknown yet wanting them to know. The feelings mutual, we all feel it, makes me wonder what would they do, if they only knew. Very lyrical.

keep writing, always

Wow niice... I could totally relate while I was reading it...to me it seems like she's wanting to be with you/the person haha, but might be confused

A tune to the rhythm of a heart in love. Good flow, nice rhyme but I can't really get in touch with a rhythm here. Albeit few poems do have rythm in a song it is necessary. In the aspect of poetry this is a poem nicely done.
