What Would...

What Would...

A Poem by Undying Glory
"

A poem about water and how important it really is.

"

What Would...

I open the tap.
I wash my hands.
Thinking of the plight
Of those without clean water

Just think of them
With no proper water supply
No proper sanitation
No proper drinking water

What would they give?
What would they give
For just one
Tiny little
Cup of
Clean
Unpolluted
Sterilised
Water?

What would they give?
What would they give
For just one
Chance of a
Nice
Clean bath
With
Clean
Unpolluted
Water and
Soap?

Then I realise
The tap’s still running.
I turn it off hastily.
That’s far too much water wasted, methinks.

A nice poem on raising awareness of just the value of water, and how those less fortunate will save every drop they can get.
Just because you and I might have all the water we could want doesn't mean that we should waste it. It's only respectable.

Good write.
