Night Walks

Night Walks

A Poem by MH900
"

Someone recently said they were scared to walk alone at night because they are female. I decided to write a brief poem (no real editing or true time spent on it) on the topic.

"

Walking down this little winding black road,

Fear creeps into my battered well worn shoes.

All the lights are out on this pitch black night

Fright can give way at the lightest of sounds.

A dress will bring unwanted attention.

A woman does not want this affection.

Cat calls, the voices that do not mean well.

Please sir, keep your opinions to yourself.

I want to get to my destination

As with me your objectification

Is skewed.

Please know,

I do not want you.

Continue on, for my little night walk

Is not over yet, sir, please do not gawk.
