Daybreak

Daybreak

A Poem by Michael
"

I was in the mood for a sonnet this morning.

You come along, sunshine to greet the morn
chasing gray shadows that roughly rule night.
You are the reason each new day's born
graciously giving to the morning's light.

And when clouds do brew and blow from afar
only beautiful sunshine do I see,
from eyes that beam like a heaven-sent star
with warming light to gently set souls free.

Lo, what of my soul dares be so bold
to give you a part of me you might yearn?
Humbly therefore, I cleave to love's gold
and give all of me, my heart in return.

I see you as daybreak - never to set.
I love you unashamed without regret.
