Unfulfilled Dreams

Unfulfilled Dreams

A Poem by Michael
"

Dreams drive my life

"

Unfulfilled dreams when life does end
are the saddest dreams of all.
For each one dreamed became a friend
that ends with the heartbeat's fall.

When at last it’s my day to go.
dreams I hope my mind will fill.
And yes it’s sad but even so
days without dreams - sadder still.

This reminds me of a dashboard confessional song, carve your heart out, "Man it takes a silly girl to lie about the dreams she has, Lord it takes a lonely one to wish that she had never dreamt at all."

You are so right. What a waste it is to not go after our dreams. It is so sad and lonely to think we may pass and they will never be fulfilled. Thank you for writing this. It is sad and beautiful.

Very short but full of meaning nevertheless. Dreams are what drives you in life, influencing everything you do.

This is beautiful and sad. I certainly relate to everything expressed in this piece. Your words are crafted together so well. I like this piece as a whole, but the first stanza really hits home. Nicely penned.
