The Halloween RoadA Poem by MichaelJust something for the day
The road was wet and full of wild to young to care or reason why.
My mom had said to mind the time
The darkly woods held craggy views
Just what was there I cannot say
Just time before, 'bout half day's span
But day was lost along that route
So run I did with foot of wing
Yes! There it was upon the porch
That night I stayed to tend the dole
I'd had my fill, was brave no more
For me, that time it was enough © 2008 Michael |
