Runaway Dreams

Runaway Dreams

A Poem by Michael

Runaway dreams run roughshod through the night
keeping restless my soul, my heart, my mind.
Heavenly golds that quickly fade to gray
torment my emotions, my thoughts, my cares.
Still I feel them, and that's somehow enough
enough to ease my soul, my heart, my mind...

They tell me I am alive!

How true! You hit it right on the head. My dreams are so special to me - I have often read about them although it seems of late I sleep like the ancients without a note of anything in my mind. I used to dream in vivid colors and with musical accompany but lately my dreams have been oh so quiet. A lovely poem that speaks volumes in so few words. My very short story 'Come with Me' is about a very vivid dream that I had when I was nineteen that I am still trying to decipher - please take a look at it when you get a chance.
Much love and light,
Siddartha

I think we all can say that dreams dominate us during the night.
The imagery is great and original, the intensity of the emotion being painted with precision.
I suggest that you change the last sign with a period, I don't think that the exclamation fits very well.

This has a lot of truth to it. Short and to the point. Well Done.

This is like that song.."When I Dream...I Dream of You" for it is in our dreams that old memories come alive and we live the life we wish we would have when at each cross road we turned WRONG when we should have turned RIGHT! Nice write..God bless..Valentine

I live for dreams... dreams live for me.

"They tell me I am alive!"

Nothing exists without them. :)

What would we be without dreams? Whether we remember them while waking up or not, they do keep our minds both alert and at ease, whichever we need.
Dreams deserve to be written about.
They deserve to be treasured in a poem as captivating as yours!
