Why does the Soul Tremble?

I heard a comment during a storm and this came to mind

Why does the soul tremble?
Because it knows the truth.
Life not lived is wasted,
be you old or a youth.

 

Souls have a memory
of things that came before,
lands we only dream of
searching this earthly shore.

 

Our souls try to guide us
to that we need to live,
and show us the folly
of take when we should give.

 

So here's why they tremble
when lightning takes to air -
life can quickly leave us
before we learn to care.
