My dear sister Symbol of giving and sacrifice.. By Saled Sayed

A Poem by mgommaa
"

To my sister Symbol of giving and sacrifice

"

They say:

We don't know from which country he came

Always works without pay

And speaks by sign

This sheikh wanders the streets

With bare feet

And at noon he takes refuge in the shadow of the building

From the balcony, a girl with a green scarf appears

Her eyes are as true as the eyes of the prophecy of the righteous

And her heart is a wet nest from Dar es Salaam

Her voice descends softly to kiss the head of the seated person.

Father, come up

On the staircase

He is leaning on his lofty knees in pain

Two feet like camel sandal climb the stairs

....

A Pan filled with rose water is behind the apartment door

And her hands enough moist and soft

Prowling between the toes and the legs

Like a mother cat's tongue

And on the chair

A sandal from the land of pilgrims is waiting for its owner

And a bowl of abundant sustenance... And a drink
