The Man at the Door

The Man at the Door

A Poem by ariomkrewel

Love came a calling
And I answered the door
My heart was falling
As we flew to the shore
He took my cold hand
And gave it a kiss
Under stars we danced
It felt like pure bliss
As dawn came a coming
I lay down to rest
My heart still a thrumming
I felt when he left
The sight so appalling
On my dagger red
Love came a calling
Now he is dead
He'd left me so coldly
The water, it came
It swallowed me boldly
As I screamed out his name
Love had betrayed me
And I saw his cruel path
Others laid to sleep
I awaited my wrath
I followed for years
As many fell deep
I weep all my tears
For hearts that he keeps
Finally he fell down
Down on his knees
In his tears he did drown
Longing for release
That night I came calling
And Love took my hand
I almost began falling
But came back to land
His hands clear as mine
As he held my lily
The smile was kind
He still waited for me
I had to let go
I needed to be free
Let the tears flow
But he needed me

something i thought up in the most random place...i suppose its rhyme scheme is unoriginal, but i like the story behind it...its supposed to be a tragedy.
