Wife

Wife

A Poem by Mark Hensley

Shh... listen to the songbird's melody

tweet tweet tweeting from every bush and tree.

About what do you suppose their song could be?

Surely it's about my love for thee.

I'm so proud to look at you and call you wife.

You are the greatest treasure in my life.

Worth enduring any pain or strife.

With intellect as sharp as any knife.

With love for you deeper than any well,

it can not be bound in any cell.

Sometimes it wants to burst forth with a yell,

untill I must with verse about it tell.
