Beyond the PastA Story by M FrithBarlow, a Time Corp operative, is having a bad day. A tyrannosaur has seen him, so some quick thinking is needed.
The tyrannosaur came thundering across the parched clearing, a swirling cloud of orange dust trailing in its wake. Eight and a half tons of bone and muscle, with only one thought in it’s brain. Barlow swore. With its giant stride the feathery creature could easily outpace him. He needed to do something fast.
Barlow screwed his eyes shut and imagined a darkened bedroom. A cool breeze, blowing through the open window, carried hints of lime and wild cherry. Damn, he couldn’t hold it. The bedroom dissolved in a cascade of whirling sparkles and the pitiless sun beat down on him once more. Barlow felt the earth sway as the murderous beast towered over him. Where next, he wondered, looking up at the flashing jaws filled with razor sharp teeth. Life in the Time Corp could be painful, but it was rarely dull.
