Injustice is just a name

Injustice is just a name

A Poem by MarcusFrias

Me and you were young

That was when we even sung

That was back in the day

When it was okay

Sticks and Stones, would absolutely never hurt my bones…I said

My color was a signal, that ill could be was single

That all I could do is fail

And end up in jail

The world was either black, or the world was either white

There was no grey, and people left me on the road like a stray.

It wasn’t my plan to take a wrong turn or look the wrong way

Sure I’ve made mistakes, but not in the worst way

Who are you to say I can’t be anything

No one, is that right? But its ok

I was once no one but today I am some one

I endured many storms, climbed many mountains, embraced many bruises, but that doesn’t matter

Because it made me who I am today.

Black or White, there is no difference

Although in this world we still feel the resistance

We are all humans, with drive and determination

We are all people, with troubles and pain

We are all the same until our color is given a name

Despite our labels, we always rise, especially with Gods Praise

Injustice is just a name
