Turtle

Turtle

A Poem by The Pretender

Waiting for you
is like watching
a turtle
going the wrong way.
It hurts so much
to watch you go
as you slowly
slowly
draw farther away.
i know
if I called out to you,
you might
just turn around.
And smile at me.
But I might scare you,
make the turtle run faster,
or hide inside his shell.
But everyday
the distance grows.
inch by painful inch.
If i wait much longer,
you will be gone,
I don't know what to do.
so sadly,
I watch the turtle.

Awesome the way you used a wild animal to descibe an ignorant person. It's a unique way few people dare to use and you seemed to master the method well. I recognized that feeling of being like a ghost and the person can't see you but if you dared to say anything it would frighten them away.

-Great poem it made me happy and sad.

I like the way you use a turtle to describe this situation. Different, but great poem!
