Before i Fall

Before i Fall

A Poem by The Pretender
"

it's about a cat. and a fishtank. never a good combination. REVIEW IT?

"
nose pressed against glass
i wonder.
how?
they taunt me,
tails sweeping.
back and forth.
their golden scales
catching my eye.
sniff.
the smell...
intoxicating,
gloriously so,
but how?
perhaps if i stretched,
and caught a sweeping tail.
just one.
one will do.
i look away from glittering bodies,
and set my eyes on a new destination.
up.
and up i go.
my tail flicks vigorously,
excitedly, from within a fern i watch.
wait.
closer
they glide towards me.
i can already taste it.
silently i reach out.
the fear in their eyes.
they know.
no!
a fatal grab
for just one snack.
i know i have failed.
even before
i fall.
