Never Built To LastA Poem by Blackened SoulI peer into the dismal dark,
Watching with sleepless eyes, And for once I can clearly see, Past every waking lie, Even though the night shall laugh at me, And although my clock does laugh at me, Hour by hour slipping away, I merely laugh back at it's own false display, Because time is an illusion, A fabricated lie, One moment measured, For how long we have to die, Because we are all dieing already, Continually rotting with every day, Time is merely a reminder, That life will always pass away, Until the stars begin to implode, Devouring their planets whole, And coming back into the one, Almighty star that spawned it all, Only to restart the madness again, Reimplementing what already has been,, Harkening back to the days of it's youth, As I come upon the uneasy truth, That we are nothing in this existence, Possessing an ego gigantic and vast, And through complete and utter insignificance, We were never built to last. © 2013 Blackened SoulReviews
