Just a word

Just a word

A Poem by One Metallic Teardrop

Words are weightless, but on us they weigh.

Words have no physical impact, but do the most damage.

Words can be spoken softly and still be destructive.

You say that words are meaningless.

You say that they cannot hurt us.

You say that they can be ignored.

They're only words you said.

You are Wrong

Words tear at our hearts, without touching us.

Words leave us drained.

Words paralyze us.

You say that they are not harmful.

You say that they should bring no tears.

They’re only words you said.

You are wrong.

They are what destroy us

They are what make us feel useless

They are what makes us insecure.

Words mentally demolish us.

Words cannot be ignored.

They're only words you said.

You are Wrong.

This is amazing. The line "You are Wrong" adds a harshness the poem which otherwise feels, to me, very soft. A building anger or resentment. It's beautifully done. Fantastic job.
