Leaving

Leaving

A Poem by messytessa

I fields stretch out before my eyes
branches reaching to the sky
this simple house
this small town
I have known for so long
Do you still want to go?

Day in day out
nothing changes
uniforms and calculators
simple friendships
stupid crushes
familiarity is suffocating

It's not as green in the city
Once you've left you can't go back
Once you leave you are no child anymore
what if I am not ready?
do you still want to go?
still want to go?
