Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm

A Poem by messytessa

CRACK, lash
bend, swish,
stitching in quilts
warm light
itching
quietly
from under door cracks
silent tears
pitter, patter
on the roof outside
the light sound of tiny feet
moving in the darkness
CRACK, lash
bend, swish
you pull me in your arms
safe from harm
buried under covers
the darkness is more pleasant now
and I wake in the morning
dust still on my eyelids
from the night before
CRACK, lash
bend, swish
the trees move against
the grey sky.
