A Chapter by Mia Sparrow

VIII

brilliant viridian hearts ungraced by the sun

shimmer in the darkness of day

thorns abound amidst the fated path

wielding daggers to dissever

the consecrated union

no Law can rend

taking flight like thrushes pursued

by feline talons protracted

vultures circle their prey unseen

and swoop their quarry unaware

preserving the glimmer of stargazers’ rays

Urial and Zurima decided they would go to David & Solomon for advice.  They took the C train  instead of the car service to 666 Madison Avenue.  Zurima told them Paul Burkhart’s plan to steal the Zurima collection and find out where the diamond mine was and prevent distribution to their company.

Urial  told them that Burkhart wanted him to seduce Zurima in order to find out the location of the mines.

“The man is obsessed.  He threatened me in a subtle way.  He said ‘if this mission isn’t completed there would be repercussions’  He has a man Chow who seems to be his partner”, Uri said.

“I was thinking we should get out of the country to where the mines are.” Zurima said.

“I agree.  You need to get far away from Burkhart and Behemoth Dynamic.  I’ve known Burkhart for a long time.  We went to Cornell together.  When he fixates on something he has to have it at all costs.   We have private jets that will take you wherever you want to go.” Solomon said.

“We’ll hold off on putting them out on the market until this whole thing is rectified,” David said. “So why don’t you take a couple days to get your affairs in order and we’ll take it from there.”
