septic skies

septic skies

A Poem by Mia Sparrow

septic skies scraped by

jagged-bristled broomsticks

cast dark sepias

on jaded irises

flecked with

redemptive glimpses.

fruitless entreaties drift

on scentless lilies sent

in vain hopes of favor.

mercurial smiles grace

eyes bowed

in veneration

blind to fallow passion.

spent of indulgence

wonted chances

yield lost stakes

for unheeding augurs.

acquiescence to guileful utterances

instilled prudence and calculation

caveat emptor to proffer affection.

advances be taken

delight is fleeting

there is no exception

That...is awesome... It reads well. It sounds great and it conveys the message well. Its everything that a poem should be.
