realizing what i lost

he was gentle.

he was kind.

he was my soul mate,

but i left him behind.

i fell for lust and need

not realizing that patience could

of lead to amazing things..

i fell for my sin 

and it grew strong and proud..

and suddenly my mistakes took over me..

a big black cloud.

i couldn't see the light

that he was building from the breathe of his lungs..

he was suffering to get me to see

that i am not who I've become..

i met my soul mate,

after i let him go..

my sorrys were never enough 

i had no choice but to let you go..

i think in line 7 you meant to say "could HAVE lead"....

and breath instead of breathe......

you refer to "he" and "you"....which may confuse the reader....

Full of emotion, and feeling, there is a lot of depth in expressing what is often hard to say. :)
