silence wasn’t an option

silence wasn’t an option

A Poem by mercrutio
"

When you feel a relationship ending against your wishes, you begin to beg for something— anything from the other person. Some piece of proof. Lesson: Don’t beg me.

"
Quiet on a bullet train, avoiding her face through the window;
The lines of all her features begging me to say something.
Cradled in the cold, harsh leather of the seats,
Remembering all the words she said to me,
The breaths between her words stole air from me.
Packing left-unsaids along with fractured memories;
Watch has dust collects on the skin once adorned in jewelry.
Cry by my side asking me to speak, but I’ve forgotten how.
Quiet on a bullet train, staring through her face;
Her soul is crystal in the eyes, but it’s still not touching me,
Breaking chrysalis for butterflies to find a moth-eaten chest;
Living on a hunch, but what you felt in your stomach
Has hatched as maggots, meant to become flies.
