Broken masks

Broken masks

A Poem by Mercelus
"

I just want somebody to be close to.

"
Calm and collected,
BUt only on the surface.
Peel the skin back
open up this chest,
and this brain.
You'll see the mess i have made.
Oh, ive got answers
for every problem but my own.
All i ask for is a little closure,
A place to call home.
Such soft lips
and snow white skin.
A sinner with a hint
of innocence.
Magic permiates the air,
only in your presence.
Though my mind is a magician of its own,
and it chooses to play tricks only on myself.
These illusions flash before my eyes
as if my life was only filled with lies.
Its all so hard,
holding all the wrong cards.
And all i want is somebody close,
to be close to.
This mask is cracking,
my facades not holding.
I can only keep this up for so long.
Calm and collected,
but only on the surface.
