Brother

Brother

A Poem by Ceejae
"

Speaking to the brothers

"
Hey my brother
My black brother
Do you know who you are my black brother
Do you know who you once were my black strong brother
A n***a in the eyes of the world
A n***a running the street with Nothing but that shyt that they drink
My brother
Come my black brother let me show you who you are
A king
You once were
built kingdom and was to be praise a king
my black
niggro
Brother
A slave
With cut feet with shyt to eat
You surpassed
my black brother
Wiped and beaten
but I could never tell if
I looked in your eyes
Are you
limited to
or subject to all the ignorance
that is bestowed on you
Blinded by the lies that are told to you
My black brother
Come so I teach you
That
That n***a you see is just a cover for the king you pretend not to be
I mean can we take a look in history
But when You look in mirror
What do you see
Your black
Your brown
is beautiful to me
My black brother
I only wish you could see what u could be
what you were meant to be
Not what the world expects you to Be.
My black strong brother.

I appreciate reading this . As an African American male this was very very comforting and soothing. Its like someone saying "I understand everything you've been through but you got through it, you are strong and tough and look at how great you are. " In a era where there is a lot of criticism towards black men, I am happy that there are women that still believe in us and still love us. Hopefully more of us will step up to the plate and really live out our absolute full potential.
