Polly Polka Dot

“Fashion Girl”

In the year 1952 the heart felt cry of a baby girl emerged from a French design studio under the Eiffel tower. This baby girl was said to be born from a scrap of fabric cut by the hands of an angle. Her hair was as orange as the orangest polka dot on one of her future designs. Her overall look was said to be as cute as a button.

The second she was born Polly could sew as fast as a Frenchman could eat escargot. Polly made herself a dress in the blink of an eye. She inspected it and said,” Very pleasant.” She even let out a high-pitched squeal. “I might just be as talented as… well I am not sure of any talented people, for I was just born.”

At those words Polly set out to explore Paris France. She waited on the soggy cement for a lightning yellow cab. She paid the cab driver a fair pay and instructed the driver to take her anywhere. Stunned that a baby girl was talking and walking the driver did what was instructed.

Around and around the city the cab went. By the time the day was done Polly Polka Dot knew the whole city.

Years had gone by since the cab ride around the city. Polly Polka Dot age 10 was now a world famous fashion designer.

They say that when she got out of the cab in front of an international airport, a US fashion designer came out and she was discovered.

Her studio was almost as small as a mouse hole. This petite building was directly under the Eiffel tower and was covered in polka dots.

Nestled in her cozy chair, Polly went on her daily routine, create a design every few seconds.

“Ring, ring!” the phone sang. “Bonjour!” answered Polly. “This is Billy Mewer international designer in New York City.” Billy said. “I need 50 polka doted sun dresses by tonight. Ta ta!”

Polly stared around the room and grabbed her needle and thread. Within seconds 50 gorgeous sun dresses lay in front of her.

“Took me a little longer than usual 5 seconds flat.”

Polly called a cab ad within one hour the dresses arrived safely in New York City.

Polly Polka dot then came across another problem when she opened her package. She had been the wrong color fabric for her design due that afternoon. She looked at the colors red, yellow, purple and black.

In the blink of an eye, Polly had five awesome dresses. She immediately sent them to Sydney, Australia.

Oh well it was dark so Polly went to bed. Polly who was nestled deep in her polka dot covers when the phone rang.

“Hello, Polly?” “Bonjour” Polly yawned. “Um I need a design plan for a bride in Utah so uh good luck.”

Polly sat up in bed and got to work. In one minute she was done. She put the design on her side table to mail tomorrow.

Well that is only one half of Polly polka dot’s life. Everyday she did the same design stuff. There is not much more to tell about Polly except she lived a design filled life.

Very interesting for a short, cute little story. I can see this being a child's tale and having its own picture book!
