Too BeautifulA Poem by NatalieI sit by your bed and watch hopelessly as you carry your own cross. Your tears are so beautiful like the eyes they come from Like the light from your smile Like the songs from your laughs I stand as you wake up and drown yourself in the arms of sorrow Your gifted life was granted hands that grew around your neck... You're always choking for air. I tell you goodnight and glance at death who sleeps by your side night after night, Poking your stomach and squeezing your head and I can hear him laugh Laughing at your pain that lets go through your voice in shrieks and moans. I watch close behind you, as you look in the mirror gathering the strength to fix up your hair Is there nothing I can say because my words are not enough, my words are not enough for you And is there nothing I can do because my love is not enough, My love not enough for you. Why do you cry? What have you done? To deserve the shadows of the dark that follow your every walk, You fight so hard to reach that light, the life that flows like springs that never end and glow Accompanying showers of a thousand sunbeams. It beats in your chest and never grows tired, that light, the life will never dry Don’t you see that? Your beauty is blinding, your lovely words flow and kisses the cheeks of your children, Don’t loose yourself now Don’t take on the world, your victory is waiting for you, your victory jumps inside of you Bleeding red of joy and love Bleeding shouts that overcome I regret that my words are not enough I regret that my love will not fill your cup But every time you loose yourself The strength that flees from your arms and legs I will try my best to always replace I will try to guide you I will try to fix you… © 2010 NatalieAuthor's Note
